How to Measure a Euro Cylinder How to Measure a Nightlatch Lock
How to Meassure a Euro Cylinder Lock in 3 Simple Stages.
 
Stage 1: Remove the fixing screw that is located on the side of the door, in line with the bottom of the euro cylinder lock.
 
 
Stage 2: The Key is needed to turn a cam that is holding the Cylinder Lock into the door frame, With a pulling movement turn the key slowly untill you feel the euro cylinder lock pull out of your door. 
 
 
Stage 3: Measuring the Cylinder Lock, You need two meassurements.
 
Meassurement 1: From one end of the euro cylinder to the centre of the fixing hole (A)
 
Meassurement 2: from the other end of the cylinder lock to the centre of the the fixing hole (B)
 
 
Summary: You shall now be able to understand how to meassure your euro cylinder lock for example If section (A) meassures 35mm and section (B) meassure 50mm this would be a 35/50 euro cylinder lock. How to Meassure a Nightlatch Lock:
 
Step 1: (B) You will need to meassure the (Backset) from the first lower edge of your Nightlatch lock to the centre of the Nightlatch where the cylinder would be located the average size tends to be 40mm or 60mm. This is Meassurement (B)
 
 
Step 2: Meassuring the Height of the lock (C); Although this isnt a pivotal measurement all you simply have to do is meassure from the bottom of the Nightlatch lock to the top of the lock. Case height tends to be anywhere from 50mm - 80mm.
 
Step 3: Meassuring the whole Width of the nightlatch lock (A); this is a simple straight meassurement once again isnt important to how the lock fits the door as long as Step 1 is correct. You tend to get sizes ranging from 80mm - 100mm.

How to meassure a Deadlock:
 
Step 1: You will need to meassure the Backset measurement of the Deadlock, The measurement from the front plate of the lock to the back of the lock case. A number of different backsets are available but the most common sizes are 64mm and 76mm.

How to meassure a Sash Lock:
 
Step 1: Fitting a Sashlock so the lock can be operated in conjunction with a door handle, The main meassurement you shall require is the "centre" this is the hole where the handle spindle goes to the centre of the keyhole. This is a vital meassurement to make sure you get the correct lock. The most common size is 57mm.
